Transportation
The OR Tambo International Airport is the nearest airport to the CSIR ICC. It is 48km from the ICC, and the approximate travel time by car is 35-60 minutes, depending on traffic and road works on the R21.
The easiest method of traveling from the airport to Pretoria is by taking the Gautrain to Hatfield Station. From there, you can take the Gautrain Bus to the ICC or your accommodation, if the bus travels that route.
You can also make use of e-hailing services like Wanatu, Bolt and Uber.

If you are renting a car:

  • Take the R21 North towards Pretoria (exit 46 at the airport). Keep left at the fork towards Pretoria.
  • Continue on the R21 and take exit 134 (Polokwane/Johannesburg/Krugersdorp) to the N1 (the Ben Schoeman Freeway). Keep right at the fork (N1 North, Polokwane).
  • Merge with the N1 North and continue straight. Take exit 141 to Lynnwood Road (M6).
  • Keep left at the fork, and use the left lane to turn right onto Lynnwood Road. Immediately turn left onto Meiring Naudé Rd (M16).
  • Continue straight and turn right at Karee Road at the CSIR campus.
  • At the circle, take the first exit and enter the CSIR ICC campus through the boom gate.
  • Inform the security guards that you are attending RAIL and/DHASA and they will grant you access.
  • The route is easily accessible on Google Maps or Waze.

Local transport options
E-hailing services like Uber and Bolt are available in South Africa. However, we recommend using Wanatu (https://wanatu.co.za/), a local e-hailing service with enhanced security features.
The Gautrain Bus stops at the ICC and travels to and from the Hatfield Gautrain station, as well as Lynnwood Bridge, where City Lodge Lynnwood is situated.

Driving/parking info
There is free parking at the ICC.
